Hot, hotter, hottest!!

Just past midsummer and the solstice and we're sweltering in some of the hottest temperatures ever recorded. Mother Nature is trying to tell us something and too many people are not listening. With train transport affected, schools closed and cool spaces being set up by communities, we need to heed the message that we have to take climate change seriously and understand that our infrastructure will need adapting with some urgency into the future. We cannot keep marking time on this.

Now in the second half of year, here at COOPT we will be working towards our summer break when we take time off to spend with friends and family and enjoy the summer season before we start again as the schools return. You may have seen our posts on Facebook advertising our September face to face Best Practice in Outdoor Play Therapy certificate course at Path Hill Outdoors Sept 19th and 20th and in conjunction with Leone and Wildheart Services, a one day, stand alone face to face course in Bushcraft Skills for Therapists to run concurrently on Sunday 20th. If you have already completed a Best Practice course you may like to sign up for this. If you're planning on doing the Best Practice course with us, you will be able to join the next Bushcraft Skills course in 2027.

Whichever you decide to do, you can be sure of meeting us in a relaxing and creative space at Path Hills with plenty of time to chat round the campfire, eat outdoors, learn new skills and generally unwind while you learn. For the Best Practice course, please e mail cooptuk@gmail.com to express your interest or for Bushcraft Skills, e mail leone@wildheartservices.co.uk directly.

The COOPT community has grown and grown over the years and we have taken the idea of Outdoor Play Therapy (and we are very clear that that is what we are doing when we are outside) from inception here to being recognised by BAPT for endorsed CPD.

One day we would like to see a module in all BAPT training courses; we keep our fingers crossed!

Over the summer break we will be totting up just how many therapists have complete the Best Practice course and planning our 'offer' for next year. We will keep you posted!
